Spending $591B Above Pre-Recession

In 2015, the federal government spending was $591 billion dollars more than pre-recession levels. The 2008 stimulus bill sent government spending to record highs. As the economy recovers, spending has grown steeply to exceed pre-recession levels in real terms.
